After a wait of almost 7-8 months, Ekta Kapoor is finally back with her production, but this time not for alt Balaji. After suffering huge losses from alt Balaji’s last few contents Ekta has now chosen a new path of collaboration with MX Player and Voot Select. After releasing its much-awaited Apharan S2 in Voot select now Ektaa has also released its next awaited series “Code M Season 2” today. Here is the review of Code M Season 2.

The S1 of the series has gained huge appreciation from viewers and is considered one of the best of alt Balaji’s collection. The series stars Jennifer Winget, and Tanuj Virwani as leads. Talking about the Season 2 of the series, the series stars Jennifer Winget as Major Monica and Tanuj as Legal Council which follows from the Season 1 of the series. In this season the story is about some army officials killing, an assassination attempt on CM, and some rogue army rebels that are killing army officials by using an army grade poison.

Can Major solve the case of killings, who are behind it, why are they targeting army officials, is the Indian army involved in it, for all this question you have to watch the complete series that is of 8 episodes which is streaming now on Voot select.

The series is decent and fast-paced but it fails to match the expectation of Season 1. The story plot is weak and you may feel bored while watching the series. Few scenes are also draggy, which are not necessary and the overall twist & turns will also not shock you much and are mostly predictable. Season 2 has less thrill factor and somehow fails to keep you hooked and connected to the end of the series

It’s very difficult to match the expectation in Season 2 if Season 1 is successful and Code M fails to do it. Almost every series in India fails in season2 after the hugely successful season 1 and the Code M is just another one on the list.

Talking about the Actor’s performance all the actors have done a decent job. Jennifer is good in her role. She portrays both the brutal and soft roles nicely and Tanuj has also done a decent job. Tanuj looks more promising and confident in season 2 and his screen presence has also increased a bit. The cast also includes Ismail Querishi who is handling the case from the CBI side as this time the case is of national emergency. He has done a decent job and is looking serious throughout the series.

ReviewInnale Vare Review: Brilliant & A Must Watch Thriller

Other actors like Atul Kumar and Rio Kapadia were up to the Mark, Eklavya Kashyap and Kartik were also good in their respective roles. Rest other characters were decent.

The overall BGM of the series is good and the song “Hindustan Zindabad” was used frequently in the series. The locations were great and they are the only best thing about the series, The action sequences were decent. The cinematography and action of the series are also good and better than in S1. The climax of the series might shock you if you have not seen the trailer in detail as some major hint is in the trailer about it. The series ends in a cliffhanger and will for sure return for a new season.

By considering all the factors above I am going with 2.5 stars for Code M S2. I would recommend this series only if you don’t have anything much to watch and want to watch something just to get off the time. The series has nothing that will surprise you. Still, if you are a fan of Jennifer and Major Monia, you can watch the show on Voot Seelect.
