Chutzpah Review SonyLiv: After a long gap sony liv is now back again with another unique, Fresh, and different series, the series is about youths and the influence of social media in their lives. I Just finished the series and here I am with the review of the series, I am going to talk about the Performance, story, script, and few highlights of the series.
The web series stars Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, and Tanya Manikatala in the main lead role along with talented actors like Elnaaz Norouzi, Diksha Singh, Gautam Mehra, and Garima Agrawal. The web series is created by Simarpreet Singh and written by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and Amit Babbar, the series has a total of 7 episodes and all episodes are now available on the SonyLiv app in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu Audio. The web series is not a family-friendly show. So Avoid watching the series with Kids and Family.
Story
The web series is about the magic, merits, and some drawbacks of the internet, the series is about 5 people Vikash (Played By Varun Sharma) who is Punjabi Munda, trying to settle down in the USA, Rishi, who is an all alone boy, looking for girls every time (Played by Manjot Singh), Kevin Paul Who is social media addict (Gautam Mehra), Deepali Shah, who is a social media influencer (Played by Aashima Mahajan) and Prateek Chawla (Played by Kshitij Chauhan) who are unknowingly and knowingly connected with each other through the internet and mainly through social media apps.
The series shows the dark side of the internet and social media and it covers the incidents from sharing the videos online to the boy’s locker room. How they are related to each other and what will be their destiny, to know this you have to watch the full web series on SonyLiv.
Performances
Varun Sharma and Manjot Singh created the same magic of Fukrey again, both are amazing in their respective role. Varun Sharma looks a little different from all of his previous characters and he has played it very beautifully. Manjot Singh is again in the same old avatar with his all-alone boy image and he looks perfect in it. Gautam Mehra was a surprise package for me, he was so amazing in his role. He represents almost 60% of the youth of today’s generation. His dialogue delivery was amazing and he nailed it in the series.
Tanya Maniktala was decent in the role of Sikha, She is playing the character of the long-distance girlfriend of Varun Sharma, although she has nothing much to explore in this character, she has done a very good job. Other actors like Aashima Mahajan and Kisthij Chauhan were decent in the roles.
Analysis
I think SonyLiv needs to rethink the content quality, after Scam 1992, our expectations are quite high and the last 2 series of SonyLiv were huge disappointments for me. The idea of the series is brilliant but the script and the screenplay are terrible and execution is at an all-time low. There are many loopholes in the series and there are lots of illogical sequences there that make no sense at all. It feels like makers just got a concept and they started making the series without even discussing the Plot.
The series is about 3 hours long and each episode is dull and Slow, the editing of the series was good, The setup was amazing and The VFX and locations were excellent. Sadly these parameters don’t make a series worth watching.

Overall
I am going with 2 out of 5 stars for the series. Chutzpah is a very brilliant idea that falls flat due to poor script and execution, even some good performances can’t save this web drama. The web series is now available on SonyLiv and if you are still planning to watch it, please don’t watch it with family and Kids.
