Is “Don’t Pick Up The Phone” based on a True Story?: Netflix’s newest addition to the plethora of content is “Don’t Pick Up The Phone” which tells an astonishingly weird and hard-to-believe but disturbing to the extent that you are angry at the people in it for being so naïve that it raises questions inside your mind like “Is this even real?” and “Did this really happen?” Well, we’re here with the answers to those questions wandering inside your mind.

Firstly, “Don’t Pick Up The Phone” is a Docu-Series that is the recounting of the events that took place in 2004 in a Mcdonald’s restaurant where the assistant manager Donna Summers got a call from an unknown caller who posed as an officer of the law and informed her that one of her employees had stolen a wallet from a customer. In order to solve this issue and catch the person, the person assured her that they were going to solve this issue over the call with another representative from Mcdonald’s available on the call with them.

Following this, an employee named Louise Ogborn was accused of that and on the instructions of the caller, she was stripped naked in the office. Not only that, Donna’s fiancé was asked to come there and asked to sexually assault Louise with each of these things being recorded in the CCTV until Donna brings in a custodian who stops this whole fiasco but it’s too late. After the investigation started on that, it was revealed that Mcdonald’s had several dozens of these similar calls made to their other branches but decided to let it go and these calls had been occurring with a similar MO since 1994.

So, whatever you might think about the series, everything that happened is real and true story and the Docu-Series tells us the story of the Mcdonald’s event and how the law enforcement caught one person but was let go because of not enough condemning evidence.
